Blue Mosque is Dubai’s biggest mosque which can accommodate two thousand worshipers at a time located in Al Safa area.
The mosque and centre complex is spanned over 8,700 square metres and is inspired by the 17th century Sultan Ahmed Mosque (also known as Blue Mosque) in Istanbul, Turkey.
The mosque itself is being built over 4,200 square metres.
Funded by Dubai-based businessman Khalaf Al Habtoor, the mosque was originally built in 1988 and then expanded in 2000. It was expanded further to become the emirate’s biggest mosque, catering Al Safa area and its neighborhoods.
The mosque is located just behind Emarat petrol station on Sheikh Zayed Road second interchange.
The mosque’s architecture is a mixture of Ottoman and Andalusian styles.
