Francis Harry Compton Crick, an English molecular biologist, biophysicist, and neuroscientist, is best known for his discovery of the structure of the DNA molecule alongside James Watson in 1953.
Along with Maurice Wilkins, they were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1962 for their discoveries related to the molecular structure of nucleic acids and their significance in the transmission of genetic information in living matter.
